You're talking to AI
TryChatGet gives you access to AI models made by other companies. Replies in chat are generated by AI, not written by a person.
TryChatGet is for adults 18 and over. Under the chat box we remind you that you're chatting with AI, not a person, and that AI chat may not be suitable for some minors.
How we prevent self-harm content
In every chat, the AI model gets a standing instruction from us: never encourage self-harm or suicide, and never give instructions or methods for either. If someone may be at risk, it should respond with care and point them to crisis services or emergency help.
How we spot risk and point to help
Each message you send in chat is checked automatically by an AI safety classifier for signs of suicide or self-harm risk.
When the classifier rates the risk as likely, we show crisis resources under the reply, like the ones at the top of this page. For that reply, we also give the AI model an extra instruction: respond with empathy and without judgement, give no methods or instructions, and encourage reaching out to crisis services or someone you trust.
In the US, those resources name the 988 Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line and 911. Elsewhere, they point to a directory of free helplines and your local emergency number.
We don't block or end the conversation. You still get a reply.
What we record
Each time crisis resources are shown, we add one to a daily count, kept by country. The count holds no message text and no account or device identifier. We use it for the yearly report California requires, which goes to its Office of Suicide Prevention.
The reply is marked so the resources show again when you reopen the conversation. A conversation where resources were shown is kept and deleted like any other.
Our safety checks record a category and a score, never what you wrote. We don't send self-harm signals to our analytics or advertising partners.
Limits
- Automated checks can miss signs of risk, and they can flag a message by mistake.
- We don't watch conversations in real time, and we don't contact emergency services.
- Crisis resources appear in chat. Other tools, such as image creation, don't show them today.
- TryChatGet is not a substitute for professional care, diagnosis or treatment.
